Girl's Weekend!

after work on friday 3 friends and i left for minnesota for a little weekend getaway. we shopped at the mall of america all day saturday. we all had really good luck finding some clothes we loved! that night we had dinner reservations at rainforest cafe - the atmosphere is so neat! i found 20 dollars during the day i bought the volcano dessert that all of us shared and it was yummy! sunday we headed alittle further north to minneapolis before driving home. downtown minneapolis was so cool, the weather couldn't have been any better! we saw the metrodome where the minnesota twins play and visited a outside sculpture garden. the drive home went smooth with not too much construction and finally made it home late sunday night!

Everyone concentrates on the problems we're having in this country lately: illegal immigration, hurricane recovery, alligators attacking people in Florida...

Not me. I concentrate on solutions for the problems. It's a win-win situation.

+ Dig a moat the length of the Mexican border. + Send the dirt to New Orleans to raise the level of the levies.

+ Put the Florida alligators in the moat along the Mexican border.

Any other problems you would like for me to solve today? Yes?

Think about this one:

  1. Cows
  2. The Constitution
  3. The Ten Commandments

C O W S Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that during the mad cow epidemic our government could track a single cow, born in Canada almost three years ago, right to the stall where she slept in the state of Washington? And, they tracked her calves to their stalls. But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens wandering around our country. Maybe we should give each of them a cow.

T H E C O N S T I T U T I O N They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq . Why don't we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it has worked for over 200 years, and we're not using it anymore.

T H E 1 0 C O M M A N D M E N T S The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments posted in a courthouse is this: You cannot post 'Thou Shalt Not Steal,' 'Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery,' and 'Thou Shall Not Lie' in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians...

the end of 145!

i am sad to say that 145 queenwood has come to an end. i can't believe that i've had the opportunity to enjoy living there for the past year and a half already! it has been so much fun, time has flown by! i remember getting an e-mail from britt about considering moving to morton with 4 girls that i didn't know...i was thinking... oh my, that's alot of girls for one house! so i talked it over with my parents and decided to go for it. i will admit i was pretty skeptical at first ...just waiting for a cat fight to break out like on real world. however, i was wrong. i have absolutely loved every minute of it. i have made friends for life, hands down-best girl friends i've ever had. some of my favorite memories were short-sheeting beds, filling up the shower with balloons, roller blading and frisbee in the rain, movies on the couch, dance parties in the kitchen, listening to britt piano...the list goes on. last summer took queenwood by surprise, two of the girls were married in the summer and one moved home closer to her home and job. so our party of five was down to just two now. it's just the two of us and now she's getting married too! the 145 chart 'o women needs updated!!

dinner for 1

at the moment i'm blogging and attempting to make dinner. if you know me it's pretty common that i start something, get distracted and start another task, forget what i began. whatever, lol, just like now, i started dinner and then decided to blog. anyways...the point of this blog is that i'm making dinner by myself! started off good, first i put the chicken in the oven set the timer, began to blog. then i thought well i'm pretty hungry so i'll make some rice too. ok, found some cheddar and broccoli rice, i added the water and turned the stove on put the pan on the stove. started back to blogging again, a few minutes later i got up to check it, and DUH! i set the pan on the burner that's not on! where's britt when i need her?! making supper used to be quite the event when there was 5 of us here, i never really had to cook since i didn't get off work til 5 and someone usually had it started by then. guess it's a fine time to start!
